November 23, 2009 I had an appointment to see a Orthodontist. This was my first appointment to see anyone in the dentist field since I was under the age of 18. I was scared out of my mind the guy was going to tell me he just wanted to pull all my teeth out.
I went to Palmetto Orthodontics in Goose Creek, SC I meet the handsome Dr. Cox and he was very understanding with my situation. He diagnosed me with upper and lower crowding, overbite, deep bite, and crossbite. As well as my treatment plan which would include $5,640 price tag and 18 months in braces. I was heart broken because I felt there was no way I could even afford something like that even with the payment plan through CareCredit which of course I didn't qualify for. They referred me to a dentist before I left and had an appointment for me that same day.
When I arrived to my dentist office Chadwick & Kolmodin they went ahead and did ex-rays and an oral evaluation followed by a full mouth debridement. My total $259 my insurance covered $211 and I paid $48 that day.
December 8, 2009 My plaque build up was so bad I had to go in again for a Prophylaxis Cleaning which was $70 and my insurance covered all of it.
So with neglect comes cavities 5 of them to be exact. My total for that was $733 which my insurance covered $340.80 and left me to pay $392.20 out of pocket. I don't remember the date this happened I just still have the treatment plan paper work.
